ACT Website and link for ACT REGISTRATION www.act.org WHO: All 11th grade students are required by Illinois to take this in the spring. (although it is open to students of all grades outside of the school) LOCATION: Tuscola High School will administer the State ACT in rooms 8-12 in the freshman/sophomore hallway. If students take the ACT on a national date they will choose the test location that best meets their needs. The national tests are not offered at Tuscola High School. DATE: The school ACT is April **, 2024. The ACT is offered numerous times throughout the year. Typically students score the best if they take the ACT in the spring of their junior year. Students select the test date they want when they register online. The national test dates can be found here. TIME: The school ACT will be from 8:00 am - approximately 1:00 pm. The national test dates will also begin in the morning and the specific test times will be shown as the student registers for the ACT online. It typically starts at 8:00 am at most test centers. Students will be able to find the exact time of the test when they register online. WHAT: The ACT is used for college admission purposes and often for scholarships. Students must register online to take the ACT over a month in advance. Our school does not administer the ACT so students that want to take the ACT will be taking it at a national test center. The ACT consists of questions in English, mathematics, reading, and science. Their is an optional writing section. The actual test time is 2 hours and 55 minutes. The optional writing section is an extra 40 minutes. Additional time is needed for the reading of instructions and distributing test materials. PREPARING FOR THE ACT: The best preparation is to take advantage of learning as much as you can in your English and math classes. The knowledge taught over the years is the best practice you will get for the ACT. WHAT TO BRING TO THE ACT: Students should bring their ID, pencils with an eraser and a calculator. Students should bring their ID for any ACT administered outside of our school. |
